  • The purpose of the West Side Community Church Softball League is to glorify God in our fellowship, and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ while playing organized softball. Each player glorifies God with his mouth using holy & uplifting words, with his body using the individual abilities God has blessed him with, and with his heart by sharing God’s love and the Good News of Jesus Christ with those who don’t know Him as their personal Lord and Savior.

  • Provide fun, recreation & fellowship in the form of softball

  • Provide a safe, family friendly atmosphere for spectators

  • Provide an enjoyable, healthy & constructive competition

  • To challenge all players/spectators to conduct themselves in a way pleasing to God, complementing not only their players, but the other team as well

  • To provide an opportunity for non-Christians (spectators, players, UMPIRES) to see and feel a difference playing in a Christian environment

  • Provide prayer before each game at home plate by the home team and after each game by each individual team in a “small group” setting.

Mission Statement

Rules

  • Standard ASA rules (start 1 ball, 1 strike) apply with the following exceptions

    • No leading off

    • No stealing

    • 4 Home Run's per team, per game.  Any Home Run's hit over the fence after 4 will be classified as a single.

  • Games will be 1 hour in length.  No inning shall begin after the time limit has been reached.  The current inning shall be completed if it has begun before the 1 hour time limit has been achieved.

  • During the end of year tournament, players must have played a minimum of 2 season games to be eligible.  If a team does not meet the minimum of 8 players to field a team at any point in the tournament, the league director may assign a comparable player from an eliminated team to field a full 10 man team.

  • New players may not be added to a team during the season without the league director's approval.  Typically players may only be added based on a permanent need.

  • Games will begin with a prayer led by the home team at home plate.  After the game, teams may pray themselves as a small group.

  • Any member of the staff, team, or spectators will hold themselves accountable to be representative of Christ.  No abuse of each other, the umpires, or anyone for that matter will be tolerated and we will require any offender to excuse themselves from the church grounds.
